Columbus vs. Detroit

The Jackets have had a strong showing against the Wings thus far, tied 0-0 at the end of the second period. There are two things I thought I would share;

Steve Mason would be the first.. This guy just continues to be a force for this team, stopping Detroit on some BIG chances in the first and second period. His dominance has clearly left its mark with the rest of the team, who have played their hearts out tonight.

Which brings me to my second tidbit. Rick Nash has his equipment off, and did not play in the second period. This is terrible news for the Jackets, as they are already short Huselius and Brassard, who round out their top three scorers. Nash went hard into the boards late in the first period, looking to twist his ankle.

Edit: Post Game: Nash has suffered a lower body injury, although early reports are suggesting it was not his ankle. I feel bad for the guys. They played their hearts out tonight, just could not find the back of the net. Modin has been clearly snake bitten!
Morning edit by Anna: While Nash is still uncertain for this weekend, it appears to be short-term and he left Joe Lewis Arena on his own two legs.
